Vantage CE Academy Trust: Multi-Site Solar PV, Zero Initial Expenses

Published on
May 20, 2026

What We Delivered

  • Multi-site solar PV across the trust estate
  • Sustainable Estates Programme funding route, zero initial expenses
  • DNO, planning, and structural managed in-house
  • Installation phased around the academic year
  • Performance monitoring and aftercare contract
01

The Problem

Vantage CE Academy Trust wanted solar PV across its estate to reduce its electricity bill, hit sustainability commitments, and futureproof against grid pricing volatility. No capital budget allocated. The route had to be procurement-compliant and audit-defensible.

02

The Solution

Solar array designed around the saving rather than around an arbitrary panel count. Funded through Sustainable Estates Programme, so the trust paid nothing up front. The energy saving funds the work over the agreed term. Planning, DNO, and structural managed in-house. Installation phased around school operations.

03

The Result

Multi-site solar PV delivered across the trust estate. 119 tons of CO₂ reduced annually. Zero initial expenses through Sustainable Estates Programme. Long-term saving over the contract term. The trust delivered the project without raising capital, with the energy saving funding the work.

Since commissioning WN1 for high-quality LED fittings at no upfront cost, Vantage has seen a significant improvement in its lighting system. The upgrade enhances focus and productivity while lowering energy costs and reducing emissions in line with our eco strategy.
